"Rani, meet me out by the rose bush in the Castle garden." The note had said. Miranda hadn't known if it meant the big one or the row of smaller ones, so she had gone to the big one, near the back entrance to the garden. The note had been pretty vague, as if written in a hurry.
"Rani!" The Princess' voice rang out.
"Shada, what's wrong? What happened?" She replied, concern in her voice It was clear that Shada had been crying, her face was red and puffy.
"Jasper cornered me in the library and beat the living Hell out of me!" The raven haired young woman sobbed. Rani hugged her and looked her over. She seemed fine on the outside, but then Jasper never hit her in the face.
"Did you tell your father?"
"Yes! But he told me to stop making up stories. Even mother looked disappointed in me!" Rani hushed her friend and the two of them walked toward the back garden door, the same door that Rani had come in through.
"Come on, you can stay at my house. You know my parents love you." Shada nodded, wiping her eyes.
"All right."
To be completely honest, Shada knew Rani's parents would, in fact, care. They followed her father's orders to a tee. And if he found out where she had gone, he would order them to return her. They would risk exile, or worse, death.
She didn't care. She needed out. And if this newest beating was any indication of the future, she had to get out of there now.
As they walked, Rani listened to Shada rant on and on about her brother, including what she wanted to do to him.
"But you now you are forbidden to use your Magic against him! You were almost banished the last time! If it weren't for your mother, you would be in some uncharted land right now!" The auburn haired girl argued.
"I know, but in light of his recent actions, he has driven me to do things I usually wouldn't even consider." The princess was silent then, thinking about the night, about a week ago, when Jasper woke her from a sound sleep to beat her, like he had done since she were a small child. He had struck her to awaken her, and began his regimen of punches, kicks and whatnot, something had changing inside her. Pain shot through her, from her head to her feet, but she had bitten her lip to silence it, like she had learned to do with him, since her cries of pain seemed to make everything worse. Things had grown on her body, stretched and twisted. She had felt powerless to control it, and even worse was the loss of control over her own body she had felt. And the voice... the voice that had come from her lips wasn't her own. It was richer, sultry.... The voice had said something in latin, which her fuzzy mind hadn't comprehended for a long time afterward.
Whatever she had said had made Jasper scream and scratch at his eyes, at which time he had promptly disappeared from her bed chamber, and hadn't returned until tonight. She thought it was a dream, until he had come for her his time. The beating had been the worst one she had ever had, all because he wanted revenge for whatever she had done to him.
A minutes later, the two girls were inside the Luete Manor. The situation was explained in great detail to her parents, the Marquis and Marquessa.
"Oh, you poor dear!" The Marquessa pulled the petite girl into her heavily perfumes, well endowed bosom. She was a heavy set, with strawberry blond hair, and beady hazel eyes. The Marquis, on the other hand, was a tall thin man, with a quiet disposition, dark brown hair and soft brown eyes. Luckily their daughter had gotten the best qualities from the both of them.
"You can stay with us for as long as you like." The buxom woman said. Shada smiled.
"Thank you, I appreciate it."
"Then it's settled. Miranda, she will stay in your room." The Marquis chimed in. The two teenage girls squealed and rushed up the stairs and down the hall to Miranda's room.
The room was lavish, though not like her room at home Rani's room was a pinkish color while Shada's was a rich crimson, like blood.
"It's like a sleepover!" Miranda exclaimed, throwing the Princess' things on the bed.
"Aye, kinda is, huh? But better, since I don't have to go home tomorrow." Shada grinned, lifting an eyebrow. Miranda grinned back and laughed.
"Of course." It was no secret that Miranda was gay, she had been for as long as they had known each other. Shada laughed and hugged her friend.
"But your parents...?"
"Eh, they were bound to find out sooner or later. They want me to marry that dreadful Lord Lyone." The attractive red head shivered and kissed her friend. "Besides, I like you better. Makes things interesting." She began to massage the Princess, her ministrations working to knead the muscles in her shoulders before moving elsewhere.
"I do too, at least I know you love me."
"Yes, I do. With all my heart." Rani said, smiling. The two began to touch each other, like lovers, and in a way they were, and had been for a long time. To look at them, one would never know such a thing, just like other things in life.
Soon hair pins hit the floor, which left Shada's almost knee length curly hair loose and unruly. Miranda's shorter hair soon followed suit along with clothing and other things that made them respectable ladies on the outside.
Within twenty minutes, they were spent, with muscles quivering and satiated. However, this was not the day that they would be able to cover up their tryst with other things, like they always did it in the past. Rani's mother was coming, her hard steps making a rattling noise throughout the house.
"Rani, dear! Shada!" The Marquessa's loud voice boomed from the other side of the door. "What's going on in there?" Before either girl could say anything, or even move, the door nob turned and the door opened. The buxom woman was in the room and screaming.
"Miranda! What on earth are you doing?!" She roared, staring at them." "And Princess you will NOT teach your heathen ways to my daughter! Leave at once!" Her face was red, whether from embarrassment or rage, it was uncertain, and she was breathing heavily.
"Mother you are overreacting!" Rani yelled, moving Shada off of her. "It's not her fault. I'm gay!" The Marquessa looked as if she ere going to faint.
"You're what? How can my only child be GAY?!" The Marquessa was about to faint, that much was clear. Her eyes rolled back and she swooned, hitting the floor with a sickening thump. Shada looked at her friend.
"She will be all right when she wakes up. She's just a bit melodramatic." Rani said, with a laugh. "But for now, let's get dress and go down to dinner. I'm starving."
Later that night, Rani awoke from her sound sleep, hearing movement.
"What are you doing." She asked, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"I'm leaving. Your mother made it clear I'm not welcome here anymore." Shada replied, punching the rest of her clothing into the back she had brought with her.
"I can't go back home and I can't stay here anymore, so..."
"You're going to the Harpies, aren't you?" Rani asked, rising from the bed.
"Yes." The raven haired girl said, watching her friend. "You can't come with me, Rani."
"And why not? Do you want me to get shipped off to marry Lord Lyone and never see me again?" Rani sounded hurt.
"Of course I don't." Shada said, opening Rani's window.
"Good, then no more complaints." Rani grinned and followed her friend out of the second story window, and into the tree that stood beyond it. It was a struggle to get down as it was, and the fact that they had dresses on didn't help much.
But within ten minutes, they were both down out the tree and off into the darkness, to see what their journey would take them.
"Rani!" The Princess' voice rang out.
