A few hours later, she was in a small town. It looked like this world was more technologically advanced, compared to her home. She hadn't thought it to be possible, but it was true. Mortals wandered around with small devices called ... mp3 players, blaring music through these devices and into their ears. Hers actually rang with how loud they were. She didn't know how they could stand it.
No one noticed her, for the most part, since they were otherwise preoccupied with life around them to notice the tall, white wolf woman, dressed in almost medieval clothing. She had to get up in the times quickly, otherwise she was going to stick out like a sore thumb... not that she didn't already. But, that she could fix. She found herself in a dark alley way, where she quickly spoke her spell and emerged in her Mortal form. She smiled to herself for remembering the incantation that would give her this form for as long as she needed it, or wanted it. She could walk amongst the Mortals unnoticed.
Her first destination was a shop, where she got new clothes. She had been wearing the same dress since she had killed her brother Jasper and it was stained with blood and gore. The shop keep eyed her wearily when she came in, but seemed to soften when she told him she was with a local... faire... as he had called it. He showed her to clothing that would fit her and she instantly set to work finding things she could wear, even in her natural form. Pants were relatively out of the question, since she had anthropomorphic legs, so she had to stick with skirts, shorts and dresses. Shorts, she found, were not under clothes, but something that people wore when they were hot and wanted to cool off. Oh, but these customs were strange! She didn't know what else to do, so she paid for the clothing with her currency, which just so happened to work for the shop keep, though he had never seen anything like it, having told her so many times. She merely smiled and left the shop, happy to have something to change into whenever she could bathe. She was used to a bathroom, and wondered what they had here... hopefully they had bathrooms here as well, she didn't know how she would fare with anything else.
She looked up at a sign that said Inn, and since she knew what an inn was, she made her way inside and garnered herself a room for the night. The woman behind the desk kept staring at her as if she were something strange. She smiled kindly at her and made her way up the stairs in the direction the woman had pointed. She had also said something about an elevator... but since Shada had no idea what the Hell an elevator was, she took the stairs, all twelve flights of them.
Her room was small, though not uncomfortably so but it had a nice bathroom, two beds, a small cabinet that housed something that looked like a glass plated box; a few lamps and a large window that looked out over the city. Oh, she enjoyed this place already, even if she didn't understand it.
The first thing she did was shower, washing the memories of her home off of her. She was in a new place and she was starting anew. Then she pulled on the clothing that she had purchased and settled down into the bed to sleep... or try to. Liir was bothering her again, pouting that she had not let her have control to meet the man they had met in the forest.
"You know I could not do that. I did not know if he were friend nor foe and I didn't want you to influence that fact."
"Trust me, he was no foe." Liir said, cryptically. Shada never understood what she meant when she talked like that, which added to the irritation that the Succubus knew everything.
"Why should I trust you? All you do is cause trouble for me." Shada said, jaw set.
"Oh, you're still mad about that, are you?"
"How could I not? You made him think I was the one cheating on him, and I am not the type of person to do that!"
"You contemplate it now as we speak. Don't get high and mighty with me." Liir seemed to be getting defensive, which pissed her off.
"Look, I am not married here, our laws do not carry past that Portal, you know as well as I do. Besides, even if they did, I would have it annulled anyway. I agreed to marry him, I did not agree to stay with him." She said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Besides, I do not love him. I never have and never will. Why should I count him as my husband when I am not, in fact, in love?"
"Customs, morals, scruples. Shada, you can't act like these things don't bother you. That is not you, that is not who you are." Liir was right, but this was a new Shada, and this Shada was going to take care of herself. "Yea...good luck with that." Liir said, quieting. Shada closed her eyes and sighed. The next thing she knew, she was asleep and dreaming of her new life.
She had slept better than she had ever had in her whole life. She never thought sleep could be so... nice. Dusk had set when she had awakened, which meant she had slept the rest of the night, and all that day. Refreshed, she had allowed herself to stay in her wolfen form, taking in the sights around her. She still wasn't comfortable in this form, but it was growing on her, even if in the back of her mind she wanted to look for a way to nullify the curse.
She walked the streets for a few hours, finding her way to a tavern.... a bar, as she heard the term. She would have a chance to drink with the locals and see what nightlife was like.
Inside the bar, smoke filled the air. She was used to the smell of tobacco burning, and even asked if she could have one from a total stranger, something she had never done before. He had been afraid to tell her no, based on her appearance, but she was not deterred. She was determined to enjoy herself. She found a stool at the end of the bar and sat down, wrapping her tail around the base of it to ensure that no one would trip or step on it.
"Barkeep... could I trouble you for a spot of vodka?" She asked. The woman looked at her strangely but got the drink she asked for. She smiled at her, her tail thwapping the legs of the stool. "Thank you." She drank a bit of it, savoring the taste.
"Ma'am? I'm sorry, they don't allow pets in this establishment. I'm gonna have to ask you to run along and find your Master." She turned to see a drunk man smiling at her. She took another drink and ignored him, her ears lying back. "Oh-ho! Ignoring me, are you?" He grabbed her shoulder and tried to spin her on the stool Because the stool top itself swiveled, she turned easily to face him. "Hey Maude, I didn't know you served mutts in here as well!" He laughed, and his buddies at the table behind him did, but no one else in the bar laughed. She tried to take another gulp of the vodka in her glass, but he slapped it away from her paw. His buddies Oh'd at them, and she merely gazed deeply into the man's eyes. There was a wickedness there, and she didn't like it. "We don't serve your Kind here, mutt-face. I'd suggest you leave."
"I will go when I feel like going and not before." She said calmly, belying the fact that she was not exactly in the mood to deal with this drunken human at the moment.
"No, no. I don't think you heard me. I said we don't serve your Kind here." Another man came over to them, and she wondered what was going to happen now.
"You heard the lady, she said she would go when she was ready." The man said. The drunken idiot turned to the second guy.
"Oh, you want to be a tough guy, do ya?"
"No, I just don't believe in ignorance." The second man was tall, with blue eyes and long black hair that bore a bright green streak in the front. He had a ring in his nose and he a collar of steel spikes around his neck. He was well-built beneath the leather jacket he wore. She was staring at him, but he was watching the man who was accosting her.
"Don't believe in... just what are you trying to say, Max? I've known your father for years and he would agree with me on this." Ah, so his name was Max.. interesting.
"No, my father would not judge someone like her because of what she looked like, but by what she has done. You, Thomas, are ignorant. And you will apologize to Miss..."
"Shada." She supplied.
"To Miss Shada, and beg her forgiveness. Then you will return to your buddies and thank whatever Gods you believe in that she did not cleave you in half with her claws." Max said. The older man glared at her and mumbled something under his breath. "What was that?"
"I'm sorry, Miss."
"Very good." Shada nodded, to the man, which helped him gain his escape.
"Thank you, Sir." She said to Max. "I appreciate what you have done for me."
"You're welcome, Miss Shada. I figured I would step in, you looked like you were having a bit of trouble with him. Thomas is an older man, and he doesn't react well to seeing Immortals." She nodded slowly, trying to figure out what he meant by that. "You are an Immortal, aren't you?"
"Aye.. I am." She said. "Vampiir."
"That explains the scent, but not your appearance. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry into your business. I just have never seen anyone like you before." And he wouldn't likely again, as far as she knew. Still, it felt strange to have someone want to know so much about her so quickly.
"I.. uh... I'm a hybrid. Lycan, you know." She felt bad for lying, but there was no way she was going to tell him what she really was, at least not this soon after just meeting him. Too complicated and too... weird.
"I see. Well, welcome to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. My name is Max Corvidus, and I will be your guide... if you want." He gave her a winsome smile, which she returned.
"Thank you Max. It's good to be here. And of course. I have yet to see the city." She said. She took another drink of her vodka, turning on the stool when he sat beside her. She had noticed a couple of people watching them from a back table. "I am sorry... am I interrupting you and your friends' good time?"
"No, no. We weren't doing anything important." He turned and waved them over. Two men came over and stood beside him. "This is Kyle," He said, pointing to a shorter man with curly auburn hair. She smiled and nodded. "And this, is Vik." Her attention when to the blond man. She blinked.
"Have we met before, Vik?" She asked.
"No, I don't believe we have." He said, studying her.
"I'm almost sure of it..." Her eyes narrowed as she studied his face. She knew that face... she knew she had seen him before.
"Guys, this is Shada." Max said. She could tell he didn't like what was happening between her and his friends.
"Shada, you say? I met a girl named Shada once." Vik said, rubbing his jaw. He had a days' worth of stubble on his face and she could hear the rough hair grating the skin on his hands. "But she was a Vampire, and you are clearly not."
"You lived with a woman named Nora." Shada said. "She wasn't fond of me, and made sure you knew it at all times." She said, watching his face. In a matter of seconds, his face went from contemplation, then anger and finally back to neutral. Interesting man. She nodded slowly.
"You are the same girl, aren't you?"
"Aye..."
"What happened to you?" He murmured. She heard it, but they didn't. She looked up at him momentarily and then back to her drink. She didn't want to think about what his words could have meant.
"Anyways, we are gonna show her around the city. She's new here and I figure we could give her a grand tour." Max said, to his friends.
"Sounds fair." Kyle said.
"All right," Vik replied. He didn't look happy about it, but eh, he didn't have to come if he didn't want to. No one was making him do it.
The four of them spend a few hours drinking before they headed out on the town. Kyle and Max were drunk, Shada was tipsy and Vik was surprisingly sober. She was having a good time, despite having Vik around, acting like a downer. She didn't know why, but he acted like she was some sort of abomination or something. It was not something she was enjoying much.
Still, despite Vik and his mood, she was having a pretty good time with them, laughing, joking, smiling. This was what it was like to have friends, even if they had just met. She had forgotten that. And that made her a bit sad to know.
She couldn't help but think about Arnoz though... and that made her angry. Why did he have to soil her good time? She pushed him out of her mind and focused on walking with the guys; they were all going back to Max's house, which made her a little nervous, considering she was the only female among three men. She didn't think they would try anything, mostly since she was an Immortal, and likely to kill any one of them if she had to. That alone made her feel better.
"This, is my house." Max said, jolting her from her mind. He pointed toward a big house, a manor almost that sat back off the street.
"It's nice." She said, being nice. He said something else, but since he was drunk it came out in a drunken slur. She ignored it, since it was something she had no wish to know about... and he was drunk, she gave him the benefit of the doubt anyway.
He led them inside and she marveled at the place. It was beautiful outside, but it was spacious on the inside. She was mildly surprised to see how nice it was, but she didn't let it show. All of them went to the living room and sat down on the various couches and chairs about the room. Max patted the cushion next to him, and she went to sit, making sure her skirt was down and her fluffy tail was out of the way.
"So, Shada, you enjoy yourself?"
"I did, aye. Thank you for showing me around." She said, nodding to him. He wrapped his arm over the back of the couch behind her.
"Good, I'm glad. I wouldn't be a good tour guide if you didn't." He snorted at his own joke and laid his head on her shoulder. She fidgeted beneath his head, not really wanting him to touch her but not knowing how to tell him to get off. Her eyes met Vik's, who was watching this go on with a level of irritation on his face.
"Max, get off the girl. Geez, do you want her to think you're a sleaze or something?" He said. Shada gave him the hint of a smile, showing how grateful she was. He nodded imperceptibly and slid his gaze back to Max, who had ignored him.
"You're a party pooper, you know that, Vik? I mean, shit, you and my sister were together all of two months before she died and here you are, in the company of another female and you can't even be civil toward her!"
"I would be a lot more civil if you would get off of her and stop acting like she is your girlfriend." Vik said, barely hiding his irritation anymore. "And let's not bring up Kaija right now, okay? You know that is not something we need to talk about in front of company." Shada blinked, realizing that Vik's bad mood hadn't come from her, but from Max.
"Touchy, I see. Well, look, she's a very nice girl, why don't you take her back to your room and..." Shada's eyes grew wide as she realized what he was saying and she quickly got up from the couch.
"I am not that kind of girl!" She exclaimed.
"Now, now. We took you all over the city and we expect payment." Payment, really? She had not asked them to do anything, it had been offered to her! She was highly offended right now and her eyes were glowing.
"And by payment you mean...?" Vik asked, standing with her.
"Oh, you know..." Max gave some sort of lewd hand motion, which made her sick to her stomach.
"I made a mistake... I should never have come here." She said, placing a paw over her mouth and moving toward the door.
"C'mon baby... we just want to see if you can take us." Max said. The glint in his eyes was not comforting. He might have been drunk, but he knew what he was talking about. He knew, and she knew it.
"No. I'm going back to the Inn and I'm..." Kyle approached her, cautiously. His glassy eyes shone just like Max's and she didn't like it. She had to get out of there. Had to.
"Look, I'm going to take her home, and then I am coming back here to deal with you two. If either of you make a move to stop me, you will regret it." Vik told the other two.
"Going to get some all by yourself, are you? My sister is rolling in her grave!" Vik, obviously tired of having Max harp on him about Kaija, grabbed the man by the jacket and hoisted him from the ground. Shada stood there, stunned. She had not known that Vik was an Immortal and somehow, knowing that did not make it any better for her. She didn't know what he was, and she didn't want to find out. She turned, ran toward the door and escaped into the coming dawn.
Shada was upset and crying as she ran, keeping her senses open to avoid obstacles in her path.
"Hey, wait up!" She heard Vik's voice. But she kept going until she realized she was really lost. She slumped down against a tree and cried. How could they expect that of her? "Shada, hey, you okay?" He was really uncomfortable with her crying and she could see it.
"No. I don't understand why they would think that I'm that type of girl." She cried, lowering her head so he didn't have to see her cry.
"He was drunk. And I am not defending him or anything, because he knew he was wrong, but that's the reason he did that. Over all, Max is an asshole." Vik said, cramming his hands into his pockets.
"So, what, did he approach me because he thought I was... easy?" She rubbed her eyes and stood up.
"Eh, to be honest, I don't know. I don't know what the Hell he was thinking." Shada shook her head and sighed, digging in her pockets for a cigarette. She pulled out out and offered the pack to him, but he declined. She shrugged and put the pack in her pocket again.
"I guess I'm just glad they didn't come at me."
"I'm pretty sure had you stayed a bit longer they probably would have." Vik said. "I don't know if you would have been able to fend them off." She exhaled blue-gray smoke into the cool, dawn air.
"I don't know. Just glad I didn't have to find out." He nodded.
"Come on, I'll take you back to your hotel." He started to walk away from her and she followed, smoking and thinking about what he had said to her. Huh... maybe he was right and Max was just an asshole. She didn't know the guy, and at this point really didn't want to. She didn't want his kind of friendship. She smoked and walked, talking occasionally with Vik, who seemed lost in his own element for a bit. She was curious about the girl they all had referred to, Kaija. Obviously she had been Max's sister and Vik's girlfriend, but she was more curious to know how she died. Must have been gruesome if Vik was still hung up over it. But she wasn't in the mood to ask prying questions at the moment. She just wanted to go back to the inn, get something to actually eat and go to sleep, even if she had spent only a night awake. She had been drinking, and that alone made her tired, even if she didn't count the rest of what had happened. A growl ripped from her throat just thinking about it. It was loud enough for Vik to stop and look at her, his blue eyes appraising her questioningly.
"Uh.. heh. It was nothing. I was just thinking about something." He lifted and eyebrow and nodded slowly. She grinned sheepishly and he started walking again. Geez, what was his problem? She sighed and followed him again, flicking the butt into the street.
By the time they got back to her hotel, as he had called it, she was starving. He left before she could ask him if he wanted to join her, so she shrugged and went inside. No skin off her back.
The food was spectacular, though it was nothing like she had ever had before, and to her amazement, she recognized some of the things they had brought to her. Full, she had set the tray aside and climbed into the bed to sleep off the rest of the alcohol she had drank that night. It felt like she had barely closed her eyes when she heard a knock at the door. With a sigh of weariness, she rolled over and got up, rubbing her eyes.
"Who is it?"
"Open the door, my love. I wish to speak with you." Dammit. How the Hell had he found her? Her heart clenched in her chest, but she begrudgingly opened the door and allowed her husband, of sorts into the room. He entered the room as if he in fact owned the place and turned to face her. "Traveled far, haven't you?" He asked, giving her a strange look.
"Aye, I am doing a bit of grieving on my own." Not really, but he didn't know that. She just wanted him to say his piece and get out of here. She didn't want him here.
"I see." He looked around, uninterested. "However, I have been watching you all night, Nightshade. I know what you've been up to."
"You're watching me now? What have I done to warrant this?"
"Oh let's see... fleeing the castle before our wedding day, and again on our wedding night. You have done plenty." She was shaking, violently reliving Azazel's presence, though he was not and could not, possibly be there. "What have you to say for yourself?" Her paws clenched into fists.
"Are you scolding me, Arnoz?" He laughed a little.
"No. I am far from that. I am asking as you--"
"Don't even say it." She snapped. "You are not my husband. Not here."
"The fact remains. You and I are married."
"In theory, not by deed. And as far as I am concerned, that will never be. I will never give myself to you." She told him, defiantly. He lowered his chin to his chest, laughing a bit more.
"So says you. But," He lifted his head. "You are mine. We have a bond, and you know that." They had a what now? "And no matter how long you deny me, you deny yourself as well. How long do you think it will take for you to give in to me? A year, a century? It matters not. Just know that you will give in to your carnal instincts sooner or later." He stepped toward her; she stood her ground and looked him in the eye. "And trust me, it will be worth it for me in the end." Not while she breathed. She was never going to give him what he wanted, he was wishing on a dead star. She snarled at him, showing him her fangs.
"Get out, Arnoz. And NEVER come back."
"I don't think I will. I think I'll stay and keep an eye on you. I suspect you will give in to me sooner than you think." What, was he going to take her in her sleep? Was he out of his mind?
"I said get out." Her voice deepened some and roughened more than she had ever heard it, even with magick or Liir's transformation. This was something new. He grinned and exited the room.
"Oh, but this is too easy." He said as he closed the door behind him. Immediately as he did so, Liir was awake again.
"We have to go. We have to move and..."
"It will do no good. If he has found us here, he will be able to find us anywhere." Shada said, sitting on the edge of the bed she had been laying in.
"We have to try. I don't think you will like the outcome if we stay. He means to coerce you into sleeping with him, whether by drug or by spell. I should not like to have that man inside our body."
"Nor I." Shada said. "But what can we do? He said something about a bond... and I know of none."
"The only one I know of is the bond that Azazel cast upon us with that dagger. The scar still brims with his magick." Shada was not particularly happy about that, but she could do nothing without alerting Arnoz that she was up to something. The only thing she could do at the moment was try to mask what she was doing, or allow Liir her freedom for a while. The Succubus would have a more easy time coming and going since she had a different magick signature than Shada, herself. She sighed and scrubbed a hand over her face. There was no way she could sleep now, not when Arnoz's words still lingered in her mind. She pulled on different clothes than she currently had on and departed, going to the park that Max and the others had showed her before.
Halfway there, she began to smell the enormous wolf man's scent again. She instantly looked around to see if she could see him. She couldn't, but she immediately hurried along to her destination. She didn't know why she was running away; she should never have bothered since he would have been able to catch her anyway. The park was empty, save for a few joggers who passed her upon entering the place. It was to be expected since the hour was so early. She breathed in the cool morning air and sat down on a stone bench along the path the joggers had taken. Tch... this sucked. No matter what she did, someone was always watching her. First it was Jasper, then Lief, then Azazel and now.... Arnoz. She was done. Completely and utterly done. She didn't enjoy being watch and... A growl boiled in her chest. She was being watched right now. Her green eyes turned black and her lips lifted with a snarl.
"Who's there?" She growled. Silence. "I know you're there, so speak up. I'm losing my patience." Silence again. Okay, this was getting frustrated. She closed her eyes and opened her other senses, trying to reach out to the...
"Shada, watch out!" Liir yelled. Her eyes snapped open just in time to see a black form rush at her from her left. She immediately shifted herself so that she fell on the ground, which made the form pitch over her head and hit the ground hard, groaning piteously.
"Who the Hell are you?" She snapped, immediately rushing the person, who she saw was a... demon? His skin was the color of onyx, his eyes shone like rubies. He had long fangs that spilled from his mouth. But, as she watched, his skin lightened to a light, ashy gray. His horns were notched, which told her he was a lower level demon. His face was mildly attractive, for a demon, and he wore the horned eye ridges of a rage demon. "What are you doing here?" She snapped, ire rising. It took him a moment to understand. He reached up and touched the base of her throat, which allowed him to speak her language, though he could have spoken Demonish and she would have understood. She jerked back, not allowing any further contact.
"I..." He grimaced and gestured her to get off his chest. She obliged, but kept a weary eye on him, ready to kill if the need arose. "I am... Lucifer's Wrath, how do you stand this language?" He cleared his throat and rose to his feet, staring at her. "I am looking for the one known as Hetu-Ahin." He told her. Again with that name! Why did she know that name? "I have word that you are she." What? He kept staring at her for a moment before continuing. "The Elders feel that you are in need of some assistance and I have been sent to help you." He explained, bowing to her. She gave him a confused look. "I am Rhys Diabolica. They gave me this name so that I will fit in easier with this culture." She raised her eyebrows and nodded slowly.
"So you are supposed to help me with..."
"Arnoz Fierce. The Elders are displeased that he holds power over you." Rhys told her. "With all that has happened, They feel that it is in the interest of Demon Kind to make sure you are safe." Why was that exactly? Nothing was making sense. Not the name he had told her, not his reason for being on the Mortal plane, none of it. She had no choice but to believe it, since Rhys was staring at her, awaiting her to do something. She sighed and placed a hand over her face.
"Fine, fine. Stay if you wish. I have no other plans to rectify this situation." She said, returning to sit on the bench. Rhys moved to stand beside her, watching.
From the corner of her eye, she saw a dark red blur. Startled, she jerked her head in that direction. She saw nothing.
"Something approaches." Rhys told her. She glanced at him.
"I thought I saw something... but maybe I was.." She heard a growl, a loud one and turned toward the sound. Violet eyes glowered at her from the dark shade of a larger, heavily branch laden tree. Her own eyes narrowed, trying to make out a face. Her nose twitched, sniffing. "Eh?" It was the same wolf scent from before. She lowered her head and smirked a bit, still looking at the man through the veil of her scarlet hair. Abruptly she stood up, and stretched. "Stay here, Rhys." She said, when the demon would have followed her. "I shan't be long."
"Of course, M'lady." He replied. She walked toward the tree, where the violet eyes peered at her.
"Okay, if you are going to follow me, at least be discreet about it." She said, when she got close enough to the tree.
"Follow you? You are mistaken. It's you who follows me."
"Please, I haven't the patience for games. What are you doing here?"
"It's a public place." The wolf replied, seeming to emerge from the shadows to tower over her. He knelt so that he was eye level with her. He sniffed her once and shook his head. "You confuse me." He said to her. She crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes for patience.
"Look, I don't want to be rude but..."
"Then don't." He said with a slight chuckle. Her eyes snapped open, they were an angry violet.
"I don't know what you're doing here, but stop following me. That is all I can say." She snapped.
"I told you. I'm not following you. We just happened to come to the same city." He said, standing again. "A perfect coincidence." Yea, and she was the Queen of Io. Knowing that this was getting her no where, she sighed.
"Coincidence." She said finally. "Fine. Fine." She shook her head and turned away from him. "How is your wound, by the way?"
"Better." He said with a shrug. He owed her nothing.
"Good, good." She nodded as her eyes changed to a deep blue. "Good-bye." She said, giving him a dismissive wave. His chuckle lingered in her ears as she walked away. She walked back to the bench to collect her helper, as it were, who was staring behind her at the wolf man with glowing red eyes.
"He's a..." Rhys stopped when she looked at him. "Never mind." She muttered something under her breath and kept walking.
They had only been walking for a matter of minutes before she was tapped on the shoulder. Whirling, she came face to face with Max, and he looked like he hadn't slept.
"What do you want?" She growled.
"I want to apologize for what I said last night. I was drunk and..." She held up a paw.
"I don't want to hear it, Max. You had a reason for asking me to allow you to show me around, and you thought I was easy. Guess what, I'm not. Trust me, if you try that shit again, you will be wearing your entrails as a necklace."
"Fair enough. I was an asshole and I realize that." He stood there for a moment, looking at Rhys and back at her. "Who's you're friend?"
"His name is Rhys, though I fail to see how that is any business of yours." Her eyes narrowed.
"It was just a question, you don't have to jump down my throat." No, she didn't, but there was nothing better she would like to do than sleep and she couldn't. Not with Arnoz around. She scrubbed a paw over her face again.
"Look, I haven't been to sleep yet and I am rather irritable. I thank you for your apology, but I must be on my way." She didn't wait for him to answer, she just started walking again, Rhys at her side.
"Can I see you again? You know, to make up for what I did?" She stopped walking and deliberately turned to him slowly.
"I would rather not. You and your friends have showed me that Mortals aren't worth the breath they breathe. I do not wish to fraternize with your Kind again. Good Day." She said nothing else, she just walked down the street with the obviously demon male beside her.
