She didn't know how long she had been down in the dungeons, and didn't care. Her mind had snapped, almost completely and she barely felt anything anymore. She had long since eaten her cellmates, after getting her strength back but they were all gone now, all gone. Nothing, not even bones were left. She sat in the grimy, stained corner and rocked, mumbling to Liir, who was perfectly fine, resting inside her mind. It wasn't fair, but she just randomly burst into laughter.
"Hey Liir, I think we are gonna get out of here!" She giggled. "I think I can fit in that mouse hole over there! Ahahaha!" She rocked faster and faster, her green eyes almost white.
"Shada, you've got to get a hold of yourself! You can't let him beat you!"
"Why not? I'm slowly dying anyway. Think I can fit in the keeeeeyyy hooolllleeee?" She laughed, loud and piercing.
"Shada...wait, hush, we have a visitor. Maybe it's Azazel come to let us out!"
"Nah...we aren't dead, He wants us dead... but I am dead!" A bunch of commotion from outside the door made her scream in frustration. "Hey! You interrupted my singing!" She shouted. "LA LA LA!!" She had forgotten her powers and she had forgotten who she was. Her name... Liir called her Shada, and that was the only part she knew. She didn't know her surname and she didn't know anything else. It was all gone, like the functioning part of her brain, or at least the part she hadn't used to plan her revenge. "Liir, I'm so hungry.... why am I so hungry?"
"Shada.. hush now. Someone is coming. You will get blood when we get out of here." Liir was trying to be nice, since the thread that held Shada's sanity was already frazzled and close to breaking anyway.
"Hetu-Ahin." It was a male voice and one she didn't recognize. Neither of her souls did. But the name had her up and ready. "Hetu-Ahin... I know you're here. Answer me." She didn't know why, but that name had her going to the door to the cell. She wanted to answer, the name had called her, but she didn't. What trickery was this?
"Nightshade. Your Mortal name is Nightshade Antoinette Angheliiratiaa Kavihaa De Embrell. I bade you to come to me." That was HER name! Who was this man? What did he want?
"Be careful. We don't know this man." No shit...
"Who...are you?" She peeked through the little window at the top of the door only to see a wolf man standing there with a rainbow tipped tail. He stood as high as she did, so she was able to look into his emotionless brown eyes.
"I am Arnoz Fierce. And I have come to see Nightshade. Who are you?" He searched her face for a long moment.
"It's me... I'm Nightshade." She said, calws goring the surface of the door.
"YOU'RE Satan's other daughter?" He sounded incredulous. "Why are you down here? What have they done to you? Why haven't you tapped your full power yet?" The last question came out as a barking demand, which made her slink back into the dark cell. He was making her head hurt with all the questions.
"Stop it! Stop it! You're killing me!" She screamed, sinking to her knees.
"All right, all right. I'm sorry. Look, I came here to make a deal with you." A deal? Oh, here it was. The real reason he had come. "I will release you, only if you agree to be my Mate." No! No! She didn't want to be anyone's Mate! Never again! But, he had said he would set her free...
"Shada... think about this. You could be free! You could be free of this place and free of Azazel! Take the deal!" Liir seemed to push her a little.
"Deal.. Please let me out." She was ready to cry, she was so happy. She didn't know what this guy was like, but she would do anything to get out of this place. Anything.
The lock snicked at the door just before it swung open. Light flooded the darkness and she stood up.
"Come forth, Nightshade. You are free now. Let us take our revenge on those who would disgrace you to this fate." She stumbled toward the door, blinking when the light hit her eyes. "Nightshade....you're..." She stood up to her full six and a half foot height and screamed to the heavens. She was free! She was free at last! She was naked! She looked at the man and gave him a full fanged, severely insane grin before disappearing, running quickly up the stairs, her knee length raven hair flying behind her.
Her mind barely picked up the sound of him following, at a much slower pace, behind her. She was starving and she was going to feed before she did anything else. The first place she went was the commons room, where she deftly picked off three beings, to slake the burning sensation in her gut. She screamed again when she had finished, now looking for the man who had condemned her to the fate she had been freed from.
His scent was close and getting stronger as she ran the halls of the castle. With her renewed energy, she was able to Trace, directly to his side and when she could see again, she noticed that he was in her room and in the arms of some woman. Shock thrummed through her, which was quickly replaced by burning rage.
"AZAZEL!!" She screamed, blowing out the window. He jumped and rolled off the woman, eyes darkening when he realized who had called his name.
"You let you out of your cell?"
"Why, scared of what you created?" She laughed at him, hard and cynically. "You afraid that I'm gonna kill you? Ya should be, that's what I plan to do!" She showed all of her teeth in a wicked grin.
"I'm going to kill whoever..."
"I think you need to stop worrying about who let me out and start worrying about what I'm going to do to you and that whore!" She jumped on the bed and grabbed a paw full of te woman's long, brown hair, dragging her across the bed to hit the floor with a thud. Shada laughed at her, at the way she was screaming for Azazel to save her.
"Kille!" He shouted.
"Really? What a name... Oh well. So what, you want to be his Mate? Good for you.. however, he failed to tell you that that it was a mistake, a fatal one at that!" Her body heat was soaring and she slammed her burning claws into the woman's throat, effectively slicing open her wind pipe and catching her head on fire. The blood fountained from the wound, hissing and sizzling in the fire. "Now, it's you're turn, Azazel. I told you I would make you pay when I got free." She growled. She stepped toward him with long, meaningful steps. "You beat me, you raped me, you imprisoned me in this horrible body and then you left me in the dungeon to die. And you thought you'd won, didn't you? Aww...you did!" She cackled, which made Liir proud of her. "But it was all for naught, wasn't it? After all of your efforts, I'm still alive. How does it made you feel?"
"Doesn't matter, does it? I'm going to kill you myself!" He jumped over the bed, knocking her to the ground. He was naked and strangely aroused, the proof of that pressing into her furry thigh. "Such a shame that you have to die... I would have loved to see how this new body of yours would have felt beneath me, encompassing me." He grabbed her breast hard enough to make her yelp. Her body heat rose another ten degrees, which burned him and surprised the Hell out of her. He screamed and rolled off her, fanning his chest.
"What did you do?" She was breathing heavily as she rose to her feet.
"You'll find out." Her voice wasn't her own, it was something else entirely. She ripped her claws across her chest, which made her bleed, but she didn't even feel it. She stuck her claws into the wound and began painting symbols in the air. "You're life is forfeit, Azazel. And you will go back to whatever Hell hole you came from!" She said something that she didn't understand, which made the symbols glow orange and fly toward him. They stuck to his skin and seemed to burn him, since he screamed.
Before she knew it, she was defending herself against his fists. He did manage to to score a few hits, effectively breaking her nose and blackening her eyes, all of which healed shortly after he'd done it. She spit blood and went after him again with her claws, screaming like a Banshee. She wanted him dead, and she wanted to play in his blood. Her eyes began to glow violet, but they were completely golden, sightless with it.
"GIVE ME YOUR SOUL..." Her fangs were past her chin now and her voice was rough and deep. Just as she spoke, her body heat soared again, enough to catch her hair on fire; she smelled sulfur.
Her paw lit just as she ripped the burning paw across his throat; he screamed, the flesh melting from his skull. His eyeballs exploded in their sockets, oozing a pus-like consistency down his cheekbones and showering her with gore.
She stabbed him in the chest, which immediately made his blood boil visibly under his skin. His heart exploded, raining more gore on her. His body was on fire now, and as his body turned to ash, she opened her mouth and sucked in the blacked mist that came floating from his body, his soul.
She was becoming something else, her body heat was already far hotter than it should have been, and she was on fire, yet she didn't burn. She didn't know what she was becoming and she didn't like it. She began to fight the Transformation, but to no avail. At the peak of the inferno, she screamed loud enough to blow the room she was standing in apart, the debris raining down on everything but her; the objects incinerated on contact. Her vision began to fade and fuzzy. She became aware that she was breathing just before she blacked out.
She barely felt arms lift her from the floor and then the weightlessness of being carried. She didn't know what was going on, but it didn't bother her, since she merely floated back into the unconscious state she had been in.
The next time she opened her eyes, she was lying on the couch downstairs. There was a gaping hole where her bedroom had been, which was just the destruction she had created in her rage.
She sat up and immediately felt sick. Groaning, she laid back down and laid a paw on her forehead. The she became aware that there was someone in the room with her. She opened her eyes again and looked around.
"You're awake." It was the same man from before and he was sitting in a chair beside the couch. She jolted into a sitting position again. "You made quite a mess, didn't you?"
"What happened? Who are you again?" She asked, confused. She vaguely remembered him letting her out of her cell, and after that, things got a little hazy. He had an amused look on his face.
"I'm not sure what happened. I found you upstairs lying on what was left of the floor, inside a huge burn mark. The room is nothing left but the bit of flooring that you were lying upon." He told her. Her eyes grew wide. Really? What happened? "As for who I am, I told you my name was Arnoz Fierce. Do you remember our bargain?" No, but she nodded anyway. "Good, good. I will leave you to rest. When you are well again, we will plan for our coming nuptials." He stood up and took her paw, placing a gentlemanly kiss upon it. "I will see you when I return, dear Nightshade."
"Call me Shada." She said.
"Shada then." He smiled at her and left the room. She watched him go with a clear level of mistrust. Okay, she had been out of her mind, still was, to a lesser extent, Liir was patching up the last of the obviously huge holes in her psyche. This man had to be crazy if he thought she was really going to marry him! She didn't know him! And he mother had always taught her to follow her heart. Her heart said this was not something she wanted to do, and thus she had to get out of here. There was no way in the lowest bowels of Hell that was was going to go through with this!
She laid back down on the couch, trying to think of what to do, or where to go. It had to be somewhere he would never find her... and she had to go now. She wouldn't take long to get back to normal, and he would want to speak with her about it. No... she was not going to let him use her for whatever gain he wanted. She had had enough of that!
An hour later, when she felt a bit better, she got off the couch, dug the pack of clothes and necessities she had stashed behind the loose wall panel behind the couch under the stairs and departed the castle from the room that she had, kept thoroughly destroyed.
"Hey Liir, I think we are gonna get out of here!" She giggled. "I think I can fit in that mouse hole over there! Ahahaha!" She rocked faster and faster, her green eyes almost white.
"Shada, you've got to get a hold of yourself! You can't let him beat you!"
