When the foggy feeling of Tracing wore off, Shada found herself standing in front of a large stone building. It was daylight, but luckily she had ended up at the side of the building, in the shade. Baninae could only last up to four hours in the sun, six if it were cloudy. Still, she had no idea if she were in the right place; the last time she was here this place was little more than a campsite outside of town. Now.. now it was like a palace, and the surrounding city was rather large and bustling with businesses and people. She had no idea where she was, and she had no idea who to ask either, so instead she went toward the city to try to see if something or someone would be able to tell her where she was.
The city gave her part of the answers she wanted to know... but not enough to calm her raging curiosity. The city was called Fury and the Castle was called Hellshadow... Shadow... if that was where Azazel was, it would make sense. Shadow was a nickname she had had from Miranda as a child, and she had called her that a few times while the dark man was around apparently. But she wasn't sure, and she didn't like to assume things. The jaunt from Mindavia had weakened her considerably, and she was too far gone to even try to feed from someone. Instead, she slunk back to the Castle and spoke the guards, her body on the verge of giving out. She begged to see Azazel, her body shaking from shock. I have news for him." The guards were eying her with looks that could have only been described as lewd. They planned to take her, possibly rape her and kill her.
"Wait!" She was so delirious, she barely heard the voice, the male voice at that, that called out. "Bring her inside." They grabbed her roughly, apparently upset that their plans had been foiled by someone higher up. She, on the other hand, was grateful. She didn't need that, not at all. "Who are you?" His voice was just as mesmerizing as it had always been, but she...couldn't think.
"Azazel..." She began, collapsing in the guards' hold. "I....Pandora...dead... I need...." Her eyes rolled back before she could get the complete sentences out of her mouth; her energy was spent and she could do nothing but rest and hope that he wouldn't kill her when she told him the news.
The next thing she knew, she was lying in a bed, with the curtains drawn. Immediately she gasped and sat straight up.
"Good, you're awake." She jumped and looked around. He was sitting in a chair beside the bed, looking like he hadn't slept and to make things worse, he was watching her just as he had when she was still Mortal, living with Lief.
"Azazel." She breathed.
"You came back." He sounded like he was surprised by that fact.
"I had to... To tell you something." She looked down at her hands, only to find that her fingers had grown back. This meant... the drugs were finally out of her system! Her hands immediately went to her face, to her head, to check and see if the rest of her appearance had rectified itself. And if had, to her happiness.
"I gave you my blood. You're mostly healed now, except for the scars. For some reason they didn't disappear." He told her, standing and coming over to her. She was no longer afraid of him, but it made no difference. She was there solely to tell him what happened, not to get back with him, that wasn't going to happen. Not ever. She watched him, taking in the sight of him for the first time in fifty years.
He had grown out his facial hair and added some color to his long, raven colored locks. He was as gorgeous as she remembered, more even, if it were possible.
He opened the black gossamer curtain and sat down on the bed beside her.
"Why did you leave me, Nightshade?" He asked, voice quiet.
"I'm sorry, Azazel. I am. I had to get away for a while. You and I just were having too many physical problems, and I couldn't take it anymore." She said, truthfully. She wasn't going to telling him that she was sick of him beating on her, mostly since it would spark another fight and she just didn't want to fight him.
"I looked everywhere for you. But you were no where to be found." His voice was tight. "You took my little girl and my heart when you left, Nightshade. How could you just leave me like that?" Again, she wasn't going to tell him, it would spark a fight.
"Azazel...I..." He turned, pulled her by the back of the head and kissed her. It was a shock to her, the fire behind his kiss. Then again, she had expected him to be like he had been before. And she had to say...she was pretty pleasantly surprised that it wasn't like that.
"I want you to be my Queen, if you will stay with me. I know you may not want to because of bad I treated you before, but I swear to you, I've changed." He said, releasing her and pulling away. With all that she was, she wanted to say no. She didn't want to be his anything anymore. But the more trusting side of her won the battle and she accepted, smiling and crying at the same time. Her eyes glowed pink as she gazed at him; he pulled her in for a kiss again, his fang raking her tongue, which sliced it and made it bleed. She cried out and pulled him closer, wrapping her arms around his neck, and threading her fingers through his dark hair.
She had missed him, even if she didn't know it. The touch of a man... there was nothing like it and she never wanted to lose it again.
"Rest, Nightshade. You've been through a lot and I know your body is weakened still. Rest and I will come and see you later." Her released her then and gently pushed her back against the pillows before going to retrieve a damp cloth to clean the blood from her. Her eyelids drooped but she was smiling. Her news could wait until she was stronger but until then, she was content in doing just as he told her.
